Wade Burleson is a Los Angeles-based graphic designer, event producer, and creative director. His work centers strong design in order to create a cohesive identity and increase engagement with the things that matter. From developing the concept and pitch deck for a PlayStation × Rauw Alejandro spot that reached millions; to co-founding Guerrilla Art School, a free, artist-led alternative to the traditional art school circuit; to opening a gallery in Budapest to give a platform to emerging artists across the world, he maintains a creative fascination with connection via design.
Born in Redondo Beach, CA; graduating from Oberlin College near Cleveland, OH; and living in Germany, China, Hungary, and Sweden gives him a strong international perspective and sparked his interest in creative events as an international tool for change. His philosophy is that great design (whether graphic, spacial, or experiential) should always be accessible and legible despite language, ability, and prior knowledge. Whether creating for blue-chip global brands or local non-profits, Wade brings the same work ethic, commitment to professionalism, and eye for detail.
Currently, Wade has been building out the tour program for the Tom of Finland Foundation, pitching and planning new experiences to increase the community impact of the Foundation while raising more funds for their important work. In addition, he is assisting Elizabeth Yochim, renowned performance artist, in creating YA!, a gallery and project space dedicated to the Embodied Arts Fund, in Culver City, CA. Wade recently launched the Queer Mail Art Project, an archive of LGBT+ mail that will remain unopened for 100 years.
